
Operational IT/OT Support Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operational IT/OT Specialist to join our dynamic team in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the implementation, maintenance, and support of our network infrastructure, while also taking on the responsibilities of an Operational Specialist.

Key Responsibilities – Operational Specialist:

Network Installation and Configuration:
-
Deploy and configure network hardware and software components.

Implement and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance.

Firewall Management:
-
Design, implement, and manage firewall solutions to safeguard network security.
-
Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring the integrity of the network.
-

Security Protocols:
-
Stay updated on the latest security trends and implement best practices to protect network assets.
-
Conduct security assessments and audits, recommending and implementing improvements.
-

Field Operations:
-
Travel to various client sites in Grande Prairie, AB and surrounding areas to install, upgrade, and troubleshoot network systems.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network solutions.
-
Participate in shift rotations to provide continuous support and ensure network uptime.

Class 5 Driver's License:
-
Possess a valid Class 5 driver's license for travel to client locations.
-

Helpdesk Support:
-
Provide local and remote support for laptops and VMs.
-
Take ownership of assigned tickets, track resolutions, and meet SLAs.
-
Comprehend basic Active Directory administration and assist with onboarding processes.

Answer and respond to corporate and field employee issues via telephone, email, and help desk ticketing system (HaloPSA).

End-User Support:
-
Support applications both on-premises and cloud-based, including email, VPN, collaboration software, and encryption software.

Assist with new hire setups, onboarding, and deployment of workstations.

Maintain and deploy workstations, update Microsoft patches, and manage software updates.

Documentation and Project Work:
-
Document ticket resolution and contribute to the helpdesk knowledge base.

Maintain asset management tools to track company-owned hardware and software.
-
Participate in project work and periodic scheduled on-call assignments.

Occasional travel to remote field sites may be required.​
Qualifications:
-
Secondary Schooling in Networking, Information Technology, or a related field.

1-3 years of experience in a similar role (Networking or Helpdesk support/technician).
-
Class 5 driver's license for travel to client locations.

Hands-on experience with networks, workstation and server hardware troubleshooting, VOIP, phone technologies, anti-virus systems, and imaging/patching software.

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability.
-
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Ability to collaborate with team members at all levels
